I'm a licensed dealer with a commercial location. I do things by the book and I've been in business for over 14 years. The amount you put up is up to you. I buy cars typically for under $3500 (my cost) and sell them from $4500 - $6000, depending on the market. I typically have to put $250-$500 into parts and repairs. I will front all repairs and do all the labor. I'm also doing everything else, running the business, keeping the license and insurance, buying, transporting, advertising, selling, accounting, etc. So for that my proposal is 50/50 split on profits.
Your investment is secured with the title to the vehicle and you turn over the title once I pay you the money back. It's not complicated. I do not need accss to your money, only need to be able to purchase cars through the auction and have it bill the account. I don't need checks or debit card or anything like that.
Sometimes vehicles sell before I even put them out front, sometimes they sit a month or two. Sometimes they sit several months. That's the nature of the business. However, it is a very rewarding business and I know of nothing that's legal that you can get any better rate of return. You do not have to lift a finger or be involved in any way, just take the money and turn over the title. There's no financing risk, there's no buy back risk, it's just simply cash sales.
I will pay to have a lawyer and witness an operating agreement between us, I know a few lawyers but you're welcome to use who you're comfortable with.
